Based in Maryland, Ti is a powerful force of precision, service, and purpose as she continues to balance a full-time engineering career while building a notary business rooted in legacy, leadership, and community.
From Blueprints to Business Plans
Ti isn’t your average notary! She’s a civil engineer working on the Amtrak Frederick Douglass Tunnel project and the proud founder of TYH Notary Co.
With over a decade of experience in construction engineering and contract compliance, she brings a detail-oriented, deadline-driven mindset into her notarial work.
“I became a notary because I wanted a flexible side business that aligned with my strengths in detail-oriented work and serving people,” she shares. “Those same skills translated seamlessly into notary work.”
Since launching in 2025, TYH Notary Co. has grown to offer a full suite of services including general notary work, RON/IPEN, apostille facilitation, estate planning documents, and even wedding officiating.
Balancing Both Worlds
One of Ti’s greatest challenges has been managing time between her demanding engineering career and growing her notary business. But instead of letting that hold her back, she created systems that work for her.
“Time management and marketing consistently test me but they’ve also forced me to create systems, automate processes, and lean into networking.”
Her first clients came from Google Business and Yelp, but she’s since expanded her reach through social media branding, Eventbrite events, and attending networking mixers. Ti’s approach is a reminder that modern marketing is about meeting people where they are, both online and offline.
Building a Brand That Feels Like Home
When asked about her target audience, Ti is clear:
“My ideal clients are busy professionals and families who value convenience, as well as businesses and law firms that need consistent notary and document facilitation services.”
But beyond that, she’s deeply committed to serving underserved communities in Maryland, a theme that runs through her work. From facilitating estate planning to creating community events like Stamped & Social and Stampgiving, her mission is rooted in access and legacy.
Her niche? Estate-related documents and general notary work.
“These types of services give me the best of both worlds. They allow me to provide meaningful support to families during important transitions, while also offering me the flexibility to balance my full-time career."
Family, Faith, and the Future
Ti is motivated by a powerful why: her daughter, Summer, and her dream of building generational wealth.
“I want to create a sustainable future that allows me to choose between my career and my business, without fear of instability.”
Her biggest supporter is her husband, Shamar, along with her family and the strong network of notaries she’s connected with.
“My love language is Words of Affirmation, so it’s deeply affirming when people tell me they’re inspired by my journey and story – it reminds me that the work I’m doing matters.”
The Power of Consistency
Ask Ti the secret to her success and she’ll tell you it’s two things: branding and planning. She dedicates time almost daily to content creation, bookkeeping, and reviewing her goals.
“I’m not a multitasker; to me it’s dysfunctional. Instead, I maximize efficiency by being intentional with my time.”
She’s also a firm believer in scheduling everything, including time to disconnect, something many entrepreneurs overlook.
Community Over Competition
One of Ti’s proudest moments? Hosting her first notary networking brunch.
“It showed me that my business is not just about documents – it’s about building a supportive community of entrepreneurs.”
From that event, she launched a free group chat for notaries who can’t yet afford coaching, a resource that has already helped others find clarity and momentum in their journey. But what makes Ti stand out most, both in business and in life, is her deep commitment to community over competition. She’s not just here to grow her own business; she’s dedicated to helping others grow too.
As a Support Coach inside The Notary Blueprint® Community, Ti actively supports members through DMs/calls, shares helpful resources, and even hosts online and in-person events to create meaningful connections. She officially became a TNB Support Coach in September 2025, after first joining the Team TNB as a Regional Leader for the DMV area in July, and has been a constant source of wisdom, empathy, and encouragement ever since.
Her generosity with her time, knowledge, and spirit is a reflection of how seriously she takes her role, not just as a notary, but as a leader in the notary community.
Vision for the Future
This year, Ti’s goal is to position TYH Notary Co. as a go-to resource in Maryland, while hosting more community-driven events and hitting revenue milestones that will allow her to reinvest in her brand.
In the next five years, she envisions expanding into a multi-branch notary and consulting firm, offering courses, coaching, and becoming a go-to resource for entrepreneurial education.
“Being a notary is more than a side hustle – it’s a professional career path that can scale if you treat it like a business,” Ti explains. “It’s not just possible. I’m living proof.”
