At The Notary Business Blueprint® (TNBB), we are honoured to spotlight Shidavia Boyd, founder of J&E Services International LLC, as our February Member of the Month! Based in the Bronx, Shidavia provides Mobile Notary Services in NYC and Remote Online Notarization (RON). Her business has grown into a trusted service for general notary work, loan signings, apostille services, and assisting the elderly and disabled. She’s also expanding into the cannabis industry, combining her notary expertise with a passion for serving specialized communities.

A Unique Path to Notary Success

Shidavia’s journey into the notary profession wasn’t something she planned but rather an opportunity that found her. “I became a Notary when someone I knew was looking for assistance with their Process Server business. So, I became a Process Server and a Notary a few months apart from each other in order to help them out,” she shares.


That decision sparked an entirely new career path. Since then, she’s built her business on persistence and adaptability, expanding her services while staying open to new opportunities, and also credits The Notary Business Blueprint® for helping her take this newfound passion and turning it into a structured and sustainable business.


Navigating Challenges and Growth

Like many entrepreneurs, Shidavia faced hurdles along the way. “The biggest challenge in building my business has been marketing and getting quality clients,” she shares.


Her early experience working under a mentor provided initial opportunities. “I got my first customers when I was working under my former mentor. He already had a clientele, so I would do the work given to me. This has changed because now, I'm on my own, so I work with signing services, sometimes I meet people (network a little), and also, I was just recently working as the Notary in an Assembly Member's Office,” she reflects.


Expanding into the Cannabis Industry

One of the most exciting aspects of Shidavia’s journey is her ability to merge her notary business with the cannabis industry. “Taking the course with The Notary Business Blueprint®, it was brought to light that there was an intersection available between my Notary business and my CBD company,” Shidavia explains.


She recognizes a growing need for notarization within this space, especially among cannabis nurses and their patients, many of whom are elderly or dealing with chronic illnesses. “If you find quality partnerships to create that symbiotic effect, then finding a niche area would not be something that you would have to pursue. That relationship could fulfill your needs. If you create that relationship multiple times within different industries, you remove barriers and limitations,” Shidavia further explains.


It is through TNBB that she has discovered new ways to position herself in a way that differentiates her from other notaries while tapping into unique and profitable markets.


Looking Ahead: 2025 and Beyond

Shidavia has ambitious goals for this year. “One of my biggest goals for this year is to build a sustainable notary business where I have a network of relationships that provide a continuous flow to my business,” she shares.


For the next five years, she is focused on adaptability and continuous learning—leveraging the tools and strategies she’s learning inside TNBB. “Throughout my life, things have constantly changed in what I have pursued. There were things that I thought I wanted that turned out to be disastrous, but they were all lessons I learned in my life. My goal is to continue my pursuit of knowledge wherever it may lead,” she reflects.


With this mindset and the resources from The Notary Business Blueprint®, she is building a business model that will allow her to scale and sustain long-term success.


Key Lessons and Staying Motivated

“One of the most important lessons that I've learned in my journey to becoming a notary professional is learning about respecting others no matter who they are or where they come from. I am learning to meet people where they are at in life,” she explains.


She also stays motivated by keeping her long-term goals in focus. “Life is always going to be tough regardless of the situation, but you have to choose your hard. There are times I don't want to work out or study and just watch a bunch of shows in my bed, but what's the alternative? Where will that road leave me? The answer is, Nowhere I want to be. So, I have to think about that as well as remember where I want to be, what my goals are, and the sacrifices I have to make to get there. And know that it's worth it!” she says with determination.


She credits her work ethic and structure for her achievements. “A habit or routine that has contributed to my success consists of working out and prep work for accomplishing goals in my business, which helps me to create a structure,” she shares.


She also lives by a simple yet powerful phrase: “Follow through.”


Most Rewarding Moments in Her Notary Career

“I think it's most rewarding when you are going along this path and you meet people who alter that path in the most amazing way that you’ve never seen coming. Being open to new opportunities can change your life in the most unexpected ways. I'm here for it!” she says enthusiastically.

Advice for Aspiring Notaries
