Founder of Journee Bridge Notary Services
At The Notary Business Blueprint ® (TNBB), we love celebrating bold steps and fresh beginnings and this month, we’re shining the spotlight on Stephanie Y. Dickerson, founder of Journee Bridge Notary Services. Based in Houston, Texas, Stephanie is bringing a whole lot of heart, hustle, and healing energy to her notary journey.

Bridging the Gap Between Service and Community
Stephanie describes herself as “a mom, sister (bruh), daughter, cuz and most excited to be a memaw,” and her business reflects that same spirit of connection and care. Her notary business name, Journee Bridge Notary Services, was created by her “son-in-luv” and carries deep meaning.
“I wanted ‘journee’ somewhere in there because this life is a journey. I want my business to help others—hence the ‘bridging’ part, bridging the service to the need.”
Stephanie’s services are as diverse as her personality. From general notary work to loan signings, apostille facilitation, trust delivery, RON (Remote Online Notarization), fingerprinting, and even field inspections, she’s created a powerful, well-rounded business. And she’s not stopping there, she’s currently completing a Digital Court Reporting course, further expanding her toolkit.
“Learning the different specialties one can pursue in the notary field has opened my eyes to so many possibilities,” Stephanie shared. “AND what makes it even sweeter is I do not have to depend on a ‘job’ to be successful. My success comes from my efforts.”
Starting Over, Stepping Up
Stephanie’s journey began in early 2024 when she got her commission in January, but it wasn’t until August that she dove in full-time. Her spark? A mix of inspiration and necessity.
“I saw a lady on Instagram doing a field inspection,” she recalls. “Then I saw a job posting on LinkedIn for a notary with a title company making $150K a year. That was the encouragement I needed.”
After being laid off in 2023, she initially started a medical courier business but found her true calling in the notary world. She says “I honestly wish I had started the notary business first. I live and I learn.”
From Paperwork to Purpose
Building a business hasn’t been without its challenges. “Two things: money and marketing,” Stephanie said honestly. “I’m a visual person and I feel I need tangible things in my hand to give to those I’m marketing to.. a flyer, a business card, something. But those things cost.”
Still, she’s made it work piece by piece. Her first official client? Her son. Her first paying client? “It was an ID verification through NotaryGo.” And recently, thanks to Google search visibility, she’s begun attracting clients more organically.
Now, she’s pivoting her focus: “I’m moving away from field inspections to work with family law attorneys and estate planners on trust deliveries. I also want to offer apostille facilitation for companies.”
Her most rewarding moment so far? Hearing “Thank you. I really needed to get this done” from a past client.
Inside The Notary Business Blueprint® Community
Stephanie found a community and source of inspiration in The Notary Business Blueprint®. “TNBB helped me see the variety of services I could offer,” she said. Through TNBB, she’s learning not just the skills—but the strategy.
“Being a part of TNBB gives me the roadmap to move forward, and it reassures me that I’m not alone. Everyone here is building something, and it’s beautiful to see.”
Success On Her Own Terms
Stephanie is building her business with intention and a long-term vision. This year, she’s aiming for her first $5K net month, a milestone that reflects both her ambition and her belief in what’s possible through consistent effort. Looking ahead, she hopes to grow Journee Bridge Notary Services into a full trust delivery signing service, available both in person and remotely.
Along the way, she’s learned the importance of mastering her craft. “Learn your craft so when asked for service, you can provide a CORRECT response,” she says, a reminder that professionalism starts with preparation.
What fuels her journey most is a deep desire for peace and stability—for herself and for her family. “I want peace in my head and home,” she shares. “And my children—they’ve been my biggest supporters.”
Words of Wisdom
Stephanie’s advice is a heartfelt reminder to every new notary out there:
“Your race is yours. Don’t compete with anyone else because there’s no competition. No one knows what someone else had to do to get where they are. Yes, it may seem like someone else is skyrocketing, but they had their beginning stage, transitioning stages, and growing stages too. Success comes in many ways. How you define your success is your definition alone and shouldn’t be based on competition. No matter where you are, you are a success because you started and haven’t given up.”
